Armin T. Wegner was a second lieutenant in the German army stationed in the Ottoman Empire in April 1915. Wegner disobeyed strict orders from Turkish and German authorities during World War I by taking pictures of the atrocities committed against the Armenian people and collecting notes and other documentation to expose the rest of the world to what was going on. He was eventually arrested, but not before sharing his research. Following World War I, he became an advocate for the Armenian pople, writing an "Open Letter to President Wilson" of the United States, appealing for the creation of an independent Armenian Country. He also was one of the eariliest voices to critiziz Hitler's treatment of the Jews in Germany. (teachgenocide.org).
Examine some of Armin T. Wegner's photographs. What is your reaction to these pictures. How did what you see reflect the UN Definition of Genocide in the previous post. Give specific examples.

No one in existence has the right to harm another, and this goes beyond words of sadness, hatred, or suffering. The pictures do reflect the Definition of Genocide but at this same time it doesn't. You cannot put something so horrible into simple 123 bullet sentences. Its to great to be miniaturized.

That the Armenian where being kill, starved to death, how that the Armenian that had die where not aloud a proper barely, marched to death
the pictures are very disturbing and upsetting. those people did not deserve what was done to them and it is terribly wrong
The people were left scavenging though fields for food. There were also children shown dead.
Looking at these picture i think he did the right at trying to show the world what is really happening. I think that more thing could go under what genocide really is i mean you could see every single rib those people had and some of them looked like skeletons:( how sad
there were parents caring there babys and people starved and just left there to die. no one care about them to help them
The pictures absolutely reflect the UN definition of Genocide. Those poor, poor people were being starved and tortured, for no good reason. The pictures are so disturbing and so depressing. Those people were all on the verge of death from starvation. Their ribs were noticably defined, and they had been starving for such a long period of time that they started to become bloated. It is just disgusting to me that people could just stand there and watch these poor innocent, helpless people starve to death, and not even make an attempt to help them.
